Healthy Transportation Foundation (HTF) is 501(c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 2014 that seeks Federal, State and Philanthropic funding to assist with research, driver health and wellness awareness and lifestyle change program (LCP) subsidy to participating Fleets and drivers. our mission

For 25 years we have been abdicating improving professional driver health is vital for the longevity of the trucking industry, and for the safety of all road users. We are redoubling our efforts on prevention, education and early detection of chronic diseases, with broader initiatives to give long-haul truck drivers and supporting staff free health coach assistance and lifestyle change programs for a number of chronic disorders.

This lifestyle often manifests itself in poor diets, with many truckers often eating pre-packaged meals in the cabs of their trucks or at fast food restaurants along their routes.

Professional Drivers experience a high prevalence of metabolic syndrome with associated diseases and conditions spanning obesity, pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, vision loss, liver health, sleep apnea and related metabolic conditions.

Professional Drivers with hypertension are at great risk for receiving a 3 month certification, not to mention the risk of increasing exposure to heart disease,  Vision loss, Confusion and Tiredness.

If your a licensed medical examiner listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry, we would like to hear from you.

HTF has partnered with fleets around the country and with the CDC for our Shift Into Better Health campaign to support the health of America’s Professional Drivers.   HTF is looking for Certified Medical Examiners in local communities nationwide that are interested in playing a broader role in the health of professional drivers.  The more you share about your professional interests, the more we can communicate those to Fleets who can recommend your services as well as provide educational resources to support your practice.

CME’s that complete registration will be added to our preferred registry of active physicians.  We are distributing this registry to fleets all over the country.
